To knit both these patterns you will need 410m/450yds of aran yarn. The yarn recommendations in each pattern are just that: recommendations. But you can use any aran yarn you like to get a matching set or if you want to have different colours then you will need 320m/350yds of yarn for Cowl Number 2 and then 90m/99m for Beanie Number 2.
