"the story you tell" original acrylic and collage on paper. 18" x 24" (20" x 26" framed).
The starting concept with this piece was to play with how the color of the circle elements influences the perception of the color of the square it sits on. The colors on the grid are not grouped and arranged in any particular way but the circles are. The background stays the same and what is imposed on top changes the perception of the whole. In this visual metaphor the background square grid is reality and the circles are our assumptions and narratives.
The palette is "floral" and creates the impression of jewel tones and pastels, although many of the individual elements in their original form were neither of these. Many of the papers have textures of plants, either close-ups of petals and such or a pattern of plant shapes in a landscape or garden.
The frame is included. It currently lives in a white frame but it could be black if you prefer. Shipping is additional.
