Welcome to the Eiolan! Where pride pays silver and plays golden!

One of the finest taverns this side of the river, in Imre. It's Theden evening, music is flowing into the night from candle lit windows, the streets are silent, empty. The moon is rising high into the dark sky. Revelry and ramble echo within cottages and fields. The trees sigh in the wind. It's a chilly autumn evening, red leaves rustle along narrow slants, the smell of cider, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin in the air. Your stumbling down the road, the nippy breeze is billowing your cloak, when you spot an oak door ajar, seeping out warm light. It looks cozy inside, flickering fires, hot stew, soft chairs, slight notes pass through the door like melted honey. It looks intriguing, so you decide to head on in.

Stop on by. It's frosty out isn't it? It's a simple copper jot to get in. For a single night, enjoy the pleasures of the Eiolan tavern! Sit in a soft oak velvet chair by the cozy fire, grab a mug of metheglin, a sip of scutten, ale, blackberry wine, anything you desire! Eat bowls of hot leek stew with buttered bread, or a cherry pie to your delight. Play a round of corners with cards together with friends! Explore the three tiers, the stage, mingle with nobles, guests, customers, servants, and musicians. Hear the cheering, whistling, the hub of conversation through the packed taproom, be immersed.

Experience one of kind songs, birthed in Tearmint, old and new, male, female, and duet. The ambience of a medieval tavern. A unique playlist, featuring twenty-nine special songs to listen too. Each tune is different. From drinking songs like AppleJack, Tinker Tanner, and Copper Bottom Pot that will make you want to hook arms and dance, to somber sad songs that'll make you cry, silly songs that will make you laugh, beautiful instrumentals, romantic swoons, creepy notes, enchanting melodies that almost seem otherworldly, songs as old as God, songs written just years prior. Between each musician there is a break to allow the audience to collect themselves after a song before another one begins. During this you can relax, continue playing cards, grab another cup, food, or use the restroom.

Instruments of all kinds; piano, fast fiddle, soft violin, dark cello, plain vocals and clapping, even plucking lute, lyre, flute, and harp. Talk to famous characters, Stanchion, Deoch, Simmon, Fela, Wilhem, Manet, and of course...the legendary bard himself, Hugo Daceonia, playing a wonderful musical invention during the performance. Sit back, relax, raise your mug in the dim sympathy lamp light, and be transported to a magical medieval world. Who knows, maybe you'll earn your silver talent pipes? I sincerely hope you enjoy the show!

Song List:

  1. Apple Jack: A famous drinking song about a cow and farmer who both get drunk on pints of Apple Jack, deep in a valley. It will surely make you want to dance!
  2. Aunt Emme's Tub: Saucy, savory, sexy, a simple song about a middle-aged woman who takes in travels to her copper tub. Bit on the nose but, it's obvious what this tune alludes too.
  3. Bell-Wether: An instrumental tune played on chimes, flutes, and whistles. It's so easy to play, it's been around since shepherd's led there sheep across mountains.
  4. Come Wash by the River: Sweet, subtle, true, a romantic slow piano song about two poor lovers who meet at a river crossing, expressing their hearts to each other, despite being barred by both families to see each other.
  5. The BlackSmith: A five hundred year old tale about a strong blacksmith lighting his forge and bending metal. Sung in deep baritone vocals, primal, ancient, tribal, a hand drum, and rings, this will most likely rumble far into your chest and make you feel enraptured by the soothing melody.
  6. Copper Bottom Pot: Fast fiddle and upbeat lyrics, a silly song about a boy who grinds at a farming mill, and steals shiny copper pots.
  7. Drovers Daughters: Fun, simple, and cheerful, a song about two Cealdish sisters who drive a carriage and visit a town market, spending loads of coin.
  8. The Tragic Ballad of a King Lost, Sir Savien Trailiard: Far away and distant, sorrowful and sad, tragic but timely, done in soft lute strumming and violin, one of the longer songs reaching ten minutes in length, tells the despairing story of Sir Savien Trailiard, a King, betrayed by his friends, imprisoned for ransomed, and left to die, while a war wages on, one he cannot win.
  9. Jackass, Jackass: Perhaps the most well known song among Hugo, besides a few, a wild, insulting drinking song on fiddle, making cruel jests about Ambrose Jakis, comparing him to a donkey. I'm certain it'll make you laugh and snort and clap!
  10. Home WestWard Wind: Beautiful, fluttering, and amazing, a soft piano instrumental about wind and travel.
  11. Fox and Goose: Catchy, tuned, quick, and jiving, an old fiddle folk song about a red fox stealing a farmer's goose and serving it his children for dinner. It's like one of those old childrens rhymes that you can't get out of your head.
  12. Knackerman, Knackerman: Sung perfectly in simple clapping and multiple vocals, a duet of female and male, an eerie creepy note about a Knackerman, a misty figure who makes candles, writes poems, and eats the bloody hearts of fair maidens in the night.
  13. We are One of War, Greed, Power: Intense and sad, a war ballad done in lute, from the perspective of a soldier during battle, his mind wandering between his country, home, and the hate of his enemy.
  14. Leave the Town, Tinker: Yet another drinking song, as their common in taverns, wonderful fiddle and drum, a tinker tromps in town to sell his wares. Although, I wouldn't recommend being rude or insulting to one, it might end badly for you.
  15. Larm and His Alepot: Verging on medieval rock, this being the only modernish type song in the playlist, a goofy, strange song about a beer brewer Larm, feasting upon foods and drinking himself till fainting. Epic, drum beating, and guitar, you'll throw up your hands and tap to the beat.
  16. Lilac Bough: A sweet piano instrumental about a garden Lilac Bough crown.
  17. PennyWhistle: Like Bell-Wether, a simple instrumental tune on flute.
  18. En Faente Morie: Trancing, bizarre, religious awe, a group of men hum and sing an old Tehluin hymn in all it's cathedral splendor.
  19. All the Shades of Flowers: A favorite of the romantic, a sweet song about a husband trying to decide what type of flower suits his beautiful wife, so he can weave a bouquet for her.
  20. Sisters Filn: A fast fiddle instrumental tune that depicts two siblings arguing over the price of butter.
  21. Squirrel in the Thatch: Folky and funny, a short song about a squirrel living in a thistle thatch collecting acorns for the coming seasons.
  22. Ten Tap Tim's Travels: A strange song about a man named Tim, who travels Tearmint, trying to impress different people around world by playing his chimes. Get it, the song is played in chimes. Similar to sygardly runes.
  23. The Lay of Felurian: Arguably, Hugo's most famous song ever composed, a beautiful, ethereal, magical otherworldly romantic song about his beloved Faen lady, Felurian, woman of moonlight and twilight. Done in lute plucking, calm, serene, and pomp, you shall get to experience the man himself play it, sing it with such love and vigor. Some say when it is sung, listeners are completely entranced by it's mossy medley, and it is as if the instrument is infused with Faerie blood.
  24. Seven Sorrows: A very old historical tune done in lyre and harp, in female vocals, about the fall of Myr Tarniel, Farfienl, and the devilish betrayal Lanre and Lyra.
  25. Tinker Tanner: A song older than God, as no one knows who wrote it, possibly a tinker himself. Violin and strumming, it tells the tale of a tinker coming to town and rucking it up the ladies, aiding men in trade, and being a complete scoundrel.
  26. Tinatatatorin: The most complex song in the playlist, Tinatatatorin is an abhorrent, beautiful, instrumental sweated out on lute written by Illien. Not only is it over ten minutes long, making it the longest song here, but it requires a full fifteen fingers to pluck the intricate sonnets, notes, and frets, to strain it out correctly. Very few people can play it. Some say a musicians fingers can bleed once it is done with.
  27. Violet Bide: Soft, precious, a sea shanty about a lady named Violet, who sips her tea, who waits solemnly at her manor by the ocean coast, awaiting her sailor to return to her from his journey on the rough blue.
  28. Waystones: A fifty two second song that is sung only vocally with no instrument. It is unsettling but powerful, about Waystones.
  29. With the Wither Withee: The final song in the playlist, but one of the most pretty, an instrumental dragged out in deep dark cello.
