[SPH] M1911A1

The M1911A1 is a .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol that has been in use since 1926. It is an improved version of the original M1911, featuring a shorter trigger, an arched mainspring housing, a larger grip safety spur, and simplified sights for better handling. The pistol has a 127mm barrel, an overall length of 216mm, and weighs approximately 1.1 kg unloaded. It uses a seven-round detachable magazine and operates on John Browning’s short-recoil system, which contributes to its reliability and durability in combat. The M1911A1 saw extensive service in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, remaining the standard U.S. military sidearm until it was replaced by the Beretta M9 in 1985. Despite this, it continues to be used by specialized military and law enforcement units and remains one of the most iconic handguns in history.
