The PPSh-41 (Pistolet-Pulemyot Shpagina, model of 1941) is a Soviet submachine gun developed during World War II by Georgy Shpagin. It was designed as a simplified, cost-effective alternative to the earlier PPD-40, and became one of the most iconic and widely used Soviet weapons of the war.

Chambered in 7.62×25mm Tokarev, the PPSh-41 uses a blowback-operated, open-bolt action and is known for its high rate of fire of 950 rounds per minute. It could be fed by either a 71-round drum magazine or a 35-round curved box magazine, with the drum being more common early in the war and the box more common later due to reliability concerns.
