POLITICAL VIOLENCE AND THE ELECTORAL PROCESS IN OYO STATE (OVERVIEW OF 2018 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION)

This paper attempts to interrogate the nature and causative factors of electoral violence in Nigeria during 2018 Oyo state governorship election in Nigeria. The importance that is currently attached to elections around the world readily suggests that its successful conduct everywhere is critical to the advancement of democracy and to the maintenance of both national as well as global peace and security.
