She’s Tall, She’s Tan, She’s Terrific

Here's my transcription of Fats' opening piano solo from the Cotton Club hit, "She's Tall, She's Tan, She's Terrific" from 1937.

We are blessed with an extra piano solo in this performance, which occurs straight after Fats' vocal run-through. It's probably not one of his best solos IMHO - he seems to get tripped up by the slightly unpredictable chord sequence in the middle 8 - but as always, his swing is irrepressible, his touch impeccable and his use of decorative stride ornaments dazzling with some nice bluesy embellishments!
