You will need experience in following patterns and should be happy applying binding. Although none of the processes are particularly difficult and my patterns are very comprehensive. Everything is explained in detail so a confident beginner could probably give this one a go! If you've never inserted a zip before, my pattern includes lots of photo's and tips to make this a much easier process.

Finished size (approximately): 6 ½'' x 6 ½''

You will receive, 15 pages of step-by-step instructions with helpful tips, diagrams and over 70 photos. This is a measure and cut pattern. I have only provided templates for the pocket flap and the closure tab. NO OTHER TEMPLATES ARE INCLUDED. Both patchwork and plain options are included in the measurements. There are lots of ideas on how to customise your case. Both Vinyl and fabric options for your zip pocket the mini slip pocket on the right side are covered. Instructions for creating patchwork with interfacing and making your own fabric stamps are also included. I've added printable labels at the back of the pattern so you can pin all the relevant pieces together during cutting.

The video tutorials that accompanied my sewalong can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/@RosieTaylorCrafts

You will need:

- A variety of quilting cottons for all the different parts of the kit and some fussy cuts are lovely if you're doing patchwork.

- Fusible fleece or cotton wadding/batting to back your exterior panels and for your flap and tabs.

- Medium-weight fusible interfacing to back the main lining and the pocket pieces.

- Felt for your needle keeper.

- Vinyl or mesh (optional). I use 12 gauge vinyl suitable for bag making and the mesh is lite weight polyester mesh ''By Annies''.

- Snap fasteners for the main closure and the scissor pocket (plastic or metal). A sew-in popper could also be used.

- 8'' nylon zip or longer that you will cut to size later.

Equipment and Tools:

Rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilting ruler, scissors, thread, iron, Wonder clips/binding clips, pins, disappearing fabric pen (I use a Frixion pen), basting spray, zipper foot, needle and embroidery thread or perlé cotton (to hand sew on your felt), walking foot (optional), temporary fabric glue pen (optional), snap fastener tool (optional).
