Posh Pretty Porcelain Pallet
From Tales of TearMint Volume 4:
Prick. Drain. Choke. Bleed. Melt. Burn. Sizzle. Sulfur. Pour. Douse. Stab. Light. Bubble. Stir. Swirl. Switch.
Alone and locked away, behind three doors, one of dark iron, one of bright copper without a hole, and a third of glass with no key, in a shimmering tower of sky glass, deep in the heart of Renere, sits a perfect Prince Regent. Porcelain pure, his beauty and handsomeness is renowned through Atur. Rumors spread throughout the nobility, through the royal family, about what he looks like, what he could do, what he is doing, what are his faults and mishaps, despite the fact no one has ever seen him nor held his eye. He's wise, magical, and sweet. He's wicked, evil, and a basterd. He is as mysterious as a gust of wind billowing and traveling into a lonely field, as mysterious as misty fog on a cold night. No one knows, no matter how much they ask. But that is far from the truth.
From the next installment of Tales of Tearmint, this short story tells the tale of a young man, left to his own choices, mind, and devices, how obsession can overrule the strong, and how tragic and terrible, a smooth mask can become in a swirl of lies and lead.
