Work Based Learning Training Plan Builder AI Prompt: Job Site Plan, Ages 14 to 21
You know the job site and you know the student. What eats the planning time is turning that into a training plan a site supervisor can actually follow. I built this prompt for my own work based learning placements. You name the site type, the placement (paid or unpaid, weeks, days, hours), your state, the student in general terms, the tasks and skills, the supervision you already have, and the safety limits. The AI tool your district allows gives back a full first draft job site training plan: objectives, a task list with clear standards, skills to teach on site, safety rules, a supervision plan, and an evaluation schedule.
What the prompt gives you back (8 labeled sections):
• A PII check, so the AI flags anything identifying before it writes
• A placement snapshot with 2 or 3 measurable training objectives
• A task list table: what done right looks like, support at start, target by end
• Job and workplace skills to learn, with one way to teach each one on site
• Safety rules, tasks the student does not do, and an age and task check
• A supervision plan by role for every part of the shift, with a clear covered / thin / stop call
• A light evaluation schedule (baseline, weekly checks, midpoint, end review) plus a 3 question student self rating
• TEAM INPUT NEEDED flags for labor and pay rule checks, forms, signatures, and staffing
What's inside:
• The copy ready prompt, as a PDF page and a plain text file that copies cleanly
• How to use it with ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or Gemini
• A NO STUDENT PII guide with quick de identify swaps
• A Placement Worksheet that matches the prompt's 7 brackets
• A Weak vs. Strong input guide
• 2 real sample outputs from Claude (fictional placements, unedited): a grade 9 school site office job and an 18 to 21 hospital food service internship
• A review checklist to use before the student's first day on site
Great for:
• Work based learning coordinators and job coaches setting up school site jobs, community work experiences, internships, and paid jobs
• Transition and life skills teachers who need a plan a site supervisor can read in a few minutes
• 18 to 21 program staff who want honest supervision and safety checks before a student starts
Please note: never enter student names or identifying information. Follow your district's AI, work based learning, and data privacy policies. Outputs are drafts for the IEP team. This is not legal advice. The prompt does not decide paid or unpaid status, wages, hours, or work permits; it flags them so you can check your state and U.S. Department of Labor rules and district policy. This training plan is NOT an IEP, NOT a signed training agreement, NOT a work permit, and NOT a decision on services, placement, or pay. It does not replace your district's training agreements or insurance forms.
