The Guardian of Piri

Before playing Maya in the second season of Space 1999, actress Catherine Schell played the servant to the Guardian of the planet Piri in the first season. Gomitolo Maya is a patterned, gradient yarn from Lana Grossa. I plumped it up with a strand of light gray Brushed Alpaca Silk by Drops and knitted it at a quite loose gauge for a light and fluffy sweater where the color variation remains muted. While knitting I tried to match the shades of the yarn to create a uniform gradient across the sweater. The garment is knitted seamlessly top down with round yoke.

Prima di interpretare Maya nella seconda stagione di Spazio 1999, l’attrice Catherine Schell ha interpretato l’inserviente del Guardiano del pianeta Piri nella prima stagione del telefilm. Gomitolo Maya è un filato gradient con striature prodotto da Lana Grossa. L’ho arricchito con un filo di Brushed Alpaca Silk di Drops grigio chiaro e ho lavorato a una tensione piuttosto morbida per un maglione leggero e soffice con variazioni di colore più delicate. Nel lavorarlo, ho cercato di far coincidere le sezioni del filato per creare una sfumatura uniforme in tutto il capo. Il maglione è stato lavorato senza cuciture dall’alto con uno sprone tondo.
