Sometimes you just have to knit rib from cast-on to cast-off! I’m not sorry, sorry! ; ) Worth it, I promise!

Sizes
To fit foot circumference: 21.5 (22.5) cm / 8.5 (9) ins
The sock is designed to fit with the rib well stretched, see images.

Recommended ease is negative to ensure the sock fits closely against your foot.  If you are inbetween sizes, go down a size rather than up.

100g of yarn will make up to a UK size 11 of these socks.  Adding a 20g mini-skein as a contrast colour will allow you to make a larger size.

Yarn
Banshee Yarns Yak Sock, 400m/100g, 100g in the main colour and 20g in the contrast colour
Shown in: Fortune (C1) & Taisca (C2).

You can find instock Banshee Yarns colours here.

Yarn Substitution
Many 4ply sock yarns can be substituted into this pattern. Due to the detail in the pattern a semi-solid or only lighted variegated yarn is recommend however or the detail will be lost. When substituting other yarns, swatching is recommended to ensure that the required sock size is achieved and to ensure sufficient yarn is purchased for the project.

Recommended Needles
2.5 mm in your preferred sock needle type: DPNs, short circular sock needles or long circular needle for the magic loop technique.

Notions
Scissors, 4 stitchmarkers, darning needle for ends

Gauge
32 stitches and 34 rounds to 7.5cm / 3ins measured over the ribbed pattern of the leg.

To measure gauge, work your swatch in the round, wash it, dry it flat and measure unstretched.

Construction and Techniques
The sock is knit in the round from the cuff down.  The heel is a flap and gusset construction with the gusset being on the bottom of the foot.  The toe is closed using matress stitch.
