“the crows maintain that a single crow could destroy the heavens. there is no doubt of that, but it proves nothing against the heavens, for heaven simply means: the impossibility of crows.” – Franz Kafka

Inspired by my popular Corvids, 19 Cowl pattern, the Quoth the Crow gloves are knit in the round using stranded colourwork. This is a quick and fun knit featuring a pair of corvid silhouettes.

Yarn kits for this pattern are available from Lilith Rose Fiber Co. on Etsy! Lilith Rose Fiber Co. is a naturally-dyed yarn brand featuring spooky, gothic-inspired colorways, and kits, custom dyed specifically for this pattern release, include enough yarn for both a pair of gloves and cowl. Purchase of a kit includes a 30% discount code for your pattern purchase, so don’t miss out!

The original Corvids, 19 Cowl pattern, published in July, 2020, was born out of pure existential boredom while self-isolating at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the pattern name was tongue-in-cheek, it is crucial to recognize the deep and devastating impact the pandemic has had on countless people — in particular, those in marginalized and BIPOC communities. I encourage you to investigate how the pandemic has affected communities in your area, and ways you can support them.
