Bubbles | A Hearthside Study

Bubbles | A Hearthside Study

A 12-page individual Bible study about childlike humility, active faith, and participating in what God is doing.

The adults smiled. The children ran.

One group admired the moment. The other entered it.

Bubbles begins with a simple scene: children chasing bubbles across a hillside while the adults stand nearby and watch. From that ordinary moment comes a deeper question—have we sometimes become content to observe a life God intended us to participate in?

Rooted in Matthew 18:3–4 and James 1:22, this Hearthside Study considers what Jesus meant when He called His disciples to become as little children, the humility at the heart of that invitation, and the difference between hearing God’s Word and allowing it to become a lived response.

Inside the 12-page designed PDF, you’ll find the original Bubbles essay, Scripture readings and context, eight guided study and reflection questions, personal reflection prompts, a closing prayer and application, and space for notes. The study can be worked through quietly on your own or shared informally with others around a table.
