Speech - The Bluest Eye

There was a time, not too long ago, when the goal of an education was to know and discern the good, the true, and the beautiful.  Children were encouraged to read classical literature to discover universal truths and to develop into the highest class of citizens. Now, I see excerpts circulating on social media from the book, “The Bluest Eye,” and those excerpts make me cringe.

It’s my opinion that this book contains obscene material, holds little educational value and should be removed from school reading lists.

I have two reasons to support my stance.
