Leonardo Self-Portrait Illusion - PDF knitting pattern
This Leonardo Illusion knit was inspired by the self portrait created by the artist. His original is a subtle, chalk work. The illusion knit shows how subtle the design can be and still work as an illusion.
The piece is designed to be viewed from the side and measures 48 cm wide by 70 cm high when made in DK yarns. Illusions work in any thickness of yarn. When you look from directly in front you only see narrow stripes. Leonardo appears when you look from the side.
The pattern includes several versions of the chart including one for use on mobile devices.
