7th SS Volunteer Mountain Division, Prinz Eugen
The 7th SS Volunteer Mountain Division "Prinz Eugen" was a Waffen-SS unit formed in 1941, primarily composed of ethnic German (Volksdeutsche) volunteers from the Balkans. It was a mountain infantry division that operated mainly in Yugoslavia, conducting brutal anti-partisan campaigns throughout the region. The division wore the standard SS runes on the right collar tab, while the left collar tab often featured either a stylized “PE” monogram or was left blank. Their cuff title read "Prinz Eugen" in silver Gothic script on a black band with silver piping. As a mountain unit, they also wore the Edelweiss insignia on the sleeve, indicating their Gebirgsjäger status.
