Another simple, yet very elegant pair of socks. The pattern is fun to knit and easy-to-follow, it allows you to relax and forget everything around you and get into the flow while you’re knitting.
The String of Bobbles Socks are knitted from the cuff down to the toe. Cast on for the cuff, using one of my favourites, the Estonian Cast-on method. Work the leg of the socks, then the French heel, turn the heel using some short rows and start decreasing to create the gussets. Continue in Tiny bobbles and Stocking stitch patterns at the foot and finish the socks with the Short, Medium or Long Standard Toe.

The pattern is suitable for novice knitters.

Sizing information

S (M, L)

To fit a ball circumference, when the foot can be measured, of 21 (22.5, 24) cm / 8.5 (9, 9.5)”.
Foot and leg lengths: adjustable (Note: foot lengths are measured from the back of the heel to the tip of the longest toe).

When the foot cannot be measured, e.g. for gift knitting, use the following shoe sizes as a guide:

EU 36-37 (38-39, 40-41)
UK 3.5-4 (5-5.5, 6.5-7)
US 5.5-6 (7-8, 8.5-9)
Choose the smaller size if between sizes, and work a Medium Standard Toe.
Shoe sizes above are based on the following foot lengths: 22.75 (24.25, 25.5) cm / 9 (9.5, 10)”.

Finished sock circumference
18.5 (20, 21.5) cm / 7.5 (8, 8.5)” (Note: for a snug fit, the socks are intentionally 2.5 cm / 1” smaller, for all sizes, than the wearer’s foot circumference).

Finished sock foot length
