The Swinging Birdy doll is a quick, easy, and no-sew amigurumi bird that sits on a swing. This 2-inch tall chicky makes the perfect car rearview mirror ornament or home decor item. Since it’s fast to work up, it makes a great last-minute birthday gift, Easter egg surprise, Christmas stocking stuffer, craft fair products, or party favors. Different yarn colors can be used to turn this into any bird, including a baby duck, mallard duck, chicken or chick, dove, parrot, penguin, cockatoo, cockatiel, wren, robin, and more.

MATERIALS

Super bulky weight 6 yarn in two colors (I used Hobbii Toucan Yarn)

Fingering weight 1 yarn in one color (I used Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/4)

5mm crochet hook

6mm plastic safety eyes (x2)

Yarn needle

Stuffing

Scissors

FO = fasten off

YO = yarn over

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (insert 2 sc in same st)

dec = decrease (sc 2 sts together)
