RapidRelax (free sample)
When we find ourselves caught in moments of stress and uncertainty we need reliable tools to return us to our baseline, relaxed and focused state. RapidRelax is a 10 minute, quick reaction force, to dial the nervous system back to baseline. Here are 8 advantages.
1. Keep things in perspective.
If we let stress to build up, we become easily frustrated, more emotional, more reactive, and exaggerate the negative. Mentally strong people are able to remain calm and understand that stressful situations arise, whatever the cause they are happening, and the best approach is to find the best solution.
2. Are self-confident.
Self-confidence and self-assurance, key aspects of being mentally tough, helps people find solutions and act competently. Calmness changes our identity and self-talk. Instead of saying "This is really annoying me", we would say "Okay, I'm going to find out what the problem is so I can figure out how to solve it".
3. Focus on what they can control.
Things happen in life that are out of your control. Both good and bad. Many people undervalue the good and hope to avoid the bad. By focusing only on what we can control, we appreciate the chance events that are good and are better able to work through the bad. However, people who are mentally tough know when something is under their control. They can evaluate their faults without feeling guilty and improve as a result. Crucially, they don’t waste energy on the things they can’t control.
4. Know what causes stress and do something about it
A stressor is “a situation that needs us to act whilst triggering our stress response,” Knowing if we are stressed and doing something about it is surprisingly rare. When we are calm and composed we can see the warning signs of stress and adjust things before we affect our health and life direction.
5. They establish healthy boundaries.
In her book, Morin writes that mentally strong people avoid giving away their power by establishing strong emotional and physical boundaries. People can establish healthy boundaries by behaving assertively, she says.
It’s all about being responsible for your own actions. “They don’t blame others for infringing on their time or space,” Morin says. “They establish healthy boundaries, speak up when necessary, and take responsibility for getting their needs met.”
6. They spend time with positive people.
“Social support is an important part of combatting stress, and mentally strong people seek out positive people,” Morin says. If you’re surrounded with pessimists, chances are they will infringe on your outlook. The same can be said, however, for optimists.
7. Prioritise themselves
Time is single most valuable resource, simply because life is essentially a giant egg timer which one day runs empty. When we are calm we avoid wasting time and doing meaningless things. Whereas, when we are stressed, many people turn to things like social media or streaming services as a distraction. But the problem is still there.
8. Make things fun
When we need to focus and have the energy to do so, we tend to perform better and do things in a more imaginative way. We might break tasks into chunks with small rewards or 'gamify' working toward a particular goal. It is important to relax, but meaningful activities like learning something fun, seeing family and friends, or doing something ourselves we find calming, recharging our batteries. The human body is also biologically designed to move during wakefulness. Spending long hours sitting reduces metabolic rate and makes us more sensitive to stress hormones normally released during movement or exercise. Calmness can be the difference between feeling energised to exercise and finding yourself drained by mid afternoon.
Why is RapidRelax so effective?
This audio track is the only tool of its kind to combine three scientifically-proven methods to induce a state of
complete relaxation and calm focus.
- Guided hypnosis (1) to move you into a state of calm, relief and comfortable relaxation.
- Brainwave synchronisation, or neural entrainment (2), occurs when a sound frequency identical to that measured in the brain during calm, focused states, is used to synchronise brain neurones.
- Advanced, purpose designed soundscape based on the latest research into psychoacoustic performance (3) enhancement custom designed using your circadian rhythm (4).
