Marama Coat

Original clothing design by Australian textile artist Pearl Red Moon

This is an Asian inspired coat with an asymmetric crossover side front with options to make it with one, two or no patch pockets. The coat is unlined but when worn unbuttoned the left side front has a wide internal facing that allows it to fall back with the face side of the fabric showing. Across the back of the coat 4 darts sculpt the waist. The full length sleeves are enhanced with wide cuffs that can be turned back if desired. The Marama Coat features lovely topstitched detailing with straight stitching and 3-step zigzag. Several creative options are outlined in the instructions for adding closures to the front, such as buttons, domes and cloth ties.

Suitable to make in stable knits or woven fabrics.

Fabric requirement varies from minimum 3.2m(3.5yds) to maximum 3.4m(3.7yds) depending on fabric width and size
