I always save the triangles I cut off when joining binding strips, and sew them together as leaders-and-enders, thread anchors, or whatever you want to call them. I think that size is perfect for the Friendship Star block. That was my starting point for this tablerunner, I just added two alternate blocks. You could make this scrappy, too, as long as there is contrast between the fabrics.
Approximate sizes 43" x 16", 39" x 14".
