When people talk of impressionist painters, we tend to think of the 19th century movement, characterized by relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, open composition and emphasis on accurate depiction of light. 

We also tend to think of the famous artists like Monet, Renoir and Turner all of them dead and gone. 

But Impressionism is still alive and well and I found a wonderful American artist, Mr. Leonard Wren, who is still painting in this style today.
