SICKNESS VS HEALTH – The Covenant Surgeon by Bro H

“Come, let us return to the Lord: For He has torn, and He will heal us; He has smitten, and He will bind us up.” [Verse 1] Health is no lottery; Sickness does not rule by chance. The people’s own choices are the pathogen; The breach gives sickness an entrance. The backsliding itself is the disease, Apostasy festers beneath the skin. When the root is healed, the fruit will change; When the heart returns, repair begins. [Pre-Chorus] Where is the breach? Where did you turn? What has the sickness come to reveal? Examine yourself. Return to His ways. “I am Yahweh who heals you.” [Chorus] The Covenant Surgeon Makes the incision; He opens the wound To remove the infection. He tears—and He heals. He smites—and He binds. Both are the work Of His faithful hand. Come, let us return to the Lord; The One who has torn us will heal. Come, let us return to the Lord; The One who has smitten will bind. [Verse 2] Sweet words laid over a broken covenant Are not medicine for the soul. They are anesthetic that hides the wound While the sickness devours the whole. Intervention without the covenant Is balm applied in vain. A shepherd crying, “Peace,” to rebellion Only numbs the patient’s pain. Declare it once; maintain nothing. Receive everything; surrender nothing. Vain belief may leave an impression, But it never takes root and holds. [Verse 3] The body obeys the ruling mind; The flesh bears the weight of the lie. When the mind is conquered by lies, The sickness will multiply. Jesus entered the synagogue teaching And exposed what tradition concealed. The plain Word confronted their falsehood; Then the sick were healed. They saw the proof standing before them, But truth would have cost them control. They guarded the system that fed them And hardened their hearts against truth. [Chorus] The Covenant Surgeon Makes the incision; He opens the wound To remove the infection. [Verse 4 –grave, reverent and restrained] “Surely He has borne our sicknesses And carried our pains. He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, And with His stripes we are healed.” Afterward Jesus found him in the temple And gave him this warning plainly: “Behold, you are made whole. Sin no more, Lest a worse thing come upon you.” Sound health and sound doctrine stand together; The body and truth cannot be torn apart. Healing did not cancel the covenant; The command still governed his walk. But the warning remained: do not sin. He walked from the bed that had held him; Now his covenant walk must begin. [Verse 5] “Lord, will You at this time restore again The Kingdom to Israel?” He promised them power to bear witness; The work of restoration began. The lame man rose at the temple gate, Walking and praising God. His restored body bore witness That the covenant promise remained. “Repent therefore, and be converted, That your sins may be blotted out, When the times of refreshing shall come From the presence of the Lord.” Repentance is more than sorrow; Conversion is turning again. First comes the blotting out of sin, Then refreshing comes from His presence. [Bridge — rising accusation] A body whose members serve different doctrines Is not one body made whole. It is competing systems dressed as fellowship, Each serving its own version of truth. Salvation does not mean heaven-bound; It means preservation, health and deliverance. They received not the love of the truth That they might be saved and made whole. If truth is loved, received and obeyed, Then health and deliverance follow. If truth is rejected, delusion becomes The prison the rebel has earned. [Final Chorus] The Covenant Surgeon Still makes the incision; He opens the wound To remove the infection. He tears—and He heals. He smites—and He binds. Judgment and mercy Serve one covenant design. Find every breach. Return to the truth. Let sound doctrine make sound life. The people’s own choices are the pathogen— But repentance opens the way to health. [Outro] “If you will diligently hearken To the voice of the Lord your God, And will do that which is right in His sight, And keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you Which I have brought upon the Egyptians: For I am Yahweh who heals you.”
