Rainfall Sounds Bali
Bali’s monsoon season is a sound experience like no other. From October to April, the island transforms into a lush, rain-soaked paradise filled with the calming rhythm of rain and the low roll of tropical thunder.
We’ve visited Bali many times over the years, always timing our trips to coincide with the rainy season. Fewer tourists, greener landscapes, and the perfect conditions for recording rain in all its moods. This time, we stayed in a small house near the rice fields outside Ubud, surrounded by palm trees, cicadas, a flowing river, and a few curious chickens. From our balcony facing the jungle, we recorded gentle drizzles, steady showers, and distant thunder that echoed softly through the trees.
One afternoon, while driving to the north side of the island, a sudden downpour forced us to take shelter under a small pergola. That unexpected stop gave us one of our favorite recordings, heavy rain pounding the roof while traffic splashed by on the wet road.
This library includes everything from calm, meditative rain to powerful tropical storms with hail, distant rumbles, and sharp lightning strikes. Perfect for sleep, meditation, film, game audio, and sound design projects that need the warmth and depth of authentic tropical rain.
