How the ratings work

Clubs that stayed put are rated off their 2025/26 goals scored and conceded through the Match Day rating method. Promoted and relegated clubs are converted by a fixed band shift between divisions - checked against what last season's relegated sides actually went on to do. Each division is rated on its own terms, so League Two has a title race and a relegation scrap just like the top flight, then balanced so it plays at a realistic scoring rate.
