This who do I tell reading set helps students read help cards, a trusted adults list, and a workplace "report it to your supervisor" sign, and choose the right person for each problem.

Why I made this: A student at her first grocery job saw a freezer door that would not close and told no one, because she did not know who that problem belonged to. This set gives students a simple map of who to tell, on cards they can carry.

What’s included:

• A 13 page PDF and an editable Word copy

• A teacher page with a three level table and a 2 week plan

• 3 documents: school, work, and community help cards, a trusted adults list, and a "report it to your supervisor" sign with a "who do I tell?" chart

• Level A ●: 10 cards with 2 choices, in 16 point type

• Level B ■: 10 cards with 3 choices

• Level C ▲: 10 short answer cards

• 3 practice pages, including a blank trusted adults list, an answer key, a data sheet with a 10 session graph, a try it for real page, and blank cards

How to use it: Read the help cards and the list together. Do one level at a time and use the card codes to check. Level C can be spoken or written. End with each student filling in their own trusted adults list with a family member.

Who it’s for: High school special education teachers, 18 to 21 program teachers, job coaches, and families helping students know who to go to for help.

Format: PDF, US Letter, 13 pages, plus an editable Word copy. Prints well in black and white.

How this is different: Self Advocacy Communication Cards | Hand This Page + All About Me Wallet Card help students tell others about themselves. Asking for Help Task Box | Self Advocacy Social Skills for Special Ed teaches how and when to ask. This set teaches who to go to at school, at work, at home, and in town.
