October Socks 2026

Inspired by fireworks shooting up into the sky this simple colourwork sock utilises a variegated yarn with a darker plain background.

Skill Level 

Knitting from the top down with a chart for the colour work. Written in three circumference sizes just follow Small (S), Medium (M) or Large (L) throughout the pattern.

Materials

4ply sock yarn, 60g background colour 40g variegated, this will depend on circumference and length of socks but have around 20g more background yarn 

Needles: 2.5mm double pointed needles 

Three moveable stitch markers, sewing up needle for grafting and scissors

Sizes

Circumference (the widest part of the foot, all the way around)

Small - 19 cm / 7.5 inches - 56 sts 

Medium - 21.5 cm / 8.5 inches - 64 sts

Large - 24.5 cm / 9.5 inches - 72 sts
