Who Sent The Memo
Who Sent the Memo?
Some songs are written. Others are discovered.
"Who Sent the Memo?" was born from a conversation between a daughter and her mother, sparked by a simple question: Why do we do this?
When difficult times arrive, Black communities often respond in remarkably similar ways. Businesses appear. Skills become income. Families adjust. Communities protect one another. Somehow, without meetings, instructions, or announcements, people find ways to adapt, create, and move forward.
This Southern Soul Groove explores the idea that what many call survival is much more than simply holding on. It is wisdom passed from generation to generation. It is creativity under pressure. It is resilience, resourcefulness, and an instinct to protect what matters most.
Part reflection, part celebration, and part conversation, "Who Sent the Memo?" honors the quiet strength that continues to show up whenever life demands it.
Maybe it wasn't a memo at all.
Maybe it was memory.
