The Flight Into Egypt
In a vast desert, a tall and ancient palm tree observes two weary wanderers—a man and a woman—who appear to be fugitives fleeing danger with a sleeping child in the woman's arms. Concerned for their fate, the palm reflects on the harsh realities of the desert, contemplating the multitude of dangers the couple faces, including thirst and predators. As it empathizes with their plight, the palm recalls a moment from its past when the beautiful Queen of Sheba planted a date kernel beneath it, promising that the tree would live until a greater king than Solomon was born. Overcome with compassion for the strangers, the palm wishes it could offer them guidance or protection against the unforgiving desert.
