BrainForge: Research to Writing App (Years 3-6)

Does research time end with your child copying sentences straight off the screen? BrainForge helps children in Years 3-6 (ages 8-12) turn online research into their own structured informative writing, and gives you a record you can keep for your home education reporting.

What your child does:

• Pastes their research into BrainForge. They can't copy it straight into their writing.
• Picks out exactly three facts: a date, a figure or a specialised word. All three are needed.
• The source is then hidden, so they write from their three facts, starting with one complete sentence that combines all three.
• Builds their piece with a main title, subheaders and paragraphs, then sees how it sits on workbook lines.

What's inside:

• Cognitive Retention Engine: stops copy-paste from the research, asks for exactly three facts, then hides the source. If copied wording turns up in a paragraph, BrainForge asks your child to put it into their own words.
• Grammar and punctuation checks: a capital letter at the start of a sentence, capitals for proper nouns (names, days, months, and states such as Qld or NSW), end punctuation, and a space after a full stop.
• Document Architect Canvas: add Main Title, Subheader and Paragraph blocks and move them up or down. It gives tips on structure and warns your child if a subheader is placed above the title.
• Australian Workbook Simulator: lined paper with a red margin and a spot for the date, guides on where to leave blank lines, and a layout that mirrors your child's writing.
• Dark mode, for anyone who prefers it.

For your records:

• Profiles for several children, each with their own work log. If no child is selected, BrainForge tells you the work won't be saved, rather than guessing which child it belongs to.
• A checklist before printing: date, ruler and paragraph spacing.
• A .json export of your records.
• An A4 print report designed as an evidence record for home education reporting. It keeps your child's real mistakes as genuine work samples, so it shows what they actually did, not a polished copy.
