We are not used to such hot summers here in the UK so my August sock had to have some airiness about it. A simple 12 row lace pattern dances down the side of the sock with my basic top down pattern fitting it all together.

Difficulty

Straight forward top down sock. The lace is a written pattern and worked over 16 stitches. Written in three circumference sizes just follow Small (S), Medium (M) or Large (L) throughout the pattern.

Materials Needed

4ply sock yarn, approximately 70g (for a UK size 7 medium circumference) 240 meters / 262 yards - I’ve used West Yorkshire Spinners in Buttermilk

Needles: Four 2.5mm double pointed needles

Three moveable stitch markers, sewing up needle for grafting and scissors

Sizes

Circumference (the widest part of the foot, all the way around)

Small - 19 cm / 7.5 inches - 54 sts

Medium - 21.5 cm / 8.5 inches - 66 sts

Large - 24.5 cm / 9.5 inches - 72 sts

Whilst this pattern has been checked and tested we are all human so if you do encounter a problem please let me know.
