I love fingerless mitts. I used to think they must be pretty pointless, since fingertips are the bits that get coldest – now I realise that since they warm your pulse point (and hence send warm blood circulating through your hands and body), they’re remarkably effective. And of course on winter runs, when those of us in less than perfect shape are in danger of overheating, they’re just perfect.

With a super-stretchy stitch pattern and equally bouncy yarn, these snug mitts hug your hands beautifully, providing warmth without irritating even the most sensitive skin.

Sizing: 
Toddler (child, adult), to fit circumference 13-14 (15-17, cm / 5-5.5 (6-6.5, 7-8) in.

Gauge 24 sts x 46 rows = 10 in pattern

Difficulty: Easy
Skills used: working in the round, increasing and decreasing

You will need: 
90 (100, 110) m / 95 (105, 120) yards of DK yarn
Sample uses 1 x 50g ball of Lang Classico (110 m / 120 yards; 35% merino / 35% nylon / 30% cotton)

3.75mm / US5 double-pointed needles, or your preferred needles for working small circumferences in the round
