The Satellite Cowl is a slouchy soft minimalistic design that's worked seamlessly in the round using a fingering/4 ply yarn held together with a mohair silk lace/2 ply yarn.

Yarn Requirements

Approximately 437 yds/400 m of fingering/4 ply yarn and 437 yds/400 m of mohair lace/2 ply yarn.
Both yarns are held together throughout.

This yarn combination can be substituted with 437 yds/400 m of worsted/10 ply or DK/8 ply yarn.

Shown in Atelier Summit single ply fingering yarn (70% superwash merino wool, 30% silk; 437 yds/400 m per 100 g) in Silver Lining, 1 skein, and Atelier Kid Mohair Silk lace yarn (72% super kid mohair, 28% silk; 460 yds/420 m per 50 g) in Natural, 1 skein.

Needles & Notions
8 US/5 mm circular needles, 24”/60 cm long, or needle size to obtain gauge;
9 US/5.5 mm circular needles, 24”/60 cm long;
10 US/6 mm circular needles, 24”/60 cm long;
1 stitch marker;
Tapestry/yarn needle to weave in yarn ends.

Gauge
19.5 stitches and 24 rounds per 4”/10 cm in stockinette/stocking stitch, knitted on smallest needles, in the round, after blocking. Gauge is not crucial but a different gauge will alter the finished size, drape and amount of yarn required.

Finished Measurements
All measurements are after blocking.
Circumference at top: 22.25”/56.5 cm.
Circumference at bottom: 28.5”/72.5 cm.
Height from top to bottom: 25”/63.5 cm.

The cowl is worked seamlessly in the round with circular needles.
The shape of the cowl gently tapers outwards from the top to the bottom
