The Secret in Bladham Wood

Twelve-year-old Sam thought her summer with her quirky grandparents and pesky little sister would be filled with books and quiet. Instead, it starts with a raw brownie, a runaway eight-year-old, and a mysterious tingle that leads straight into a world they had no idea existed.

When Sam’s younger sister Lilly vanishes into the woods behind their grandparents’ house, Sam and the neighbor boy Marcus give chase—and stumble into the lost realm of Alenexia, a hidden world with strange creatures and forgotten family history.

But the magic that brought them there may not be enough to get them back. Especially with the return of the Grizzly Man—a being of shadow and force, and a link to a secret their family has kept for generations.

To save her sister and escape, Sam must face what it really means to be brave—even when you don’t feel like you’re special enough.
