Equivalent Expressions Around the Clock Partner Scavenger Hunt | Distributive Property Practice
Give students a collaborative way to practice equivalent expressions with this Distributive Property Around the Clock Partner Scavenger Hunt. This activity focuses on using the distributive property with nonnegative numbers only, making it a helpful option for building confidence with equivalent expressions.
Each partner has their own clock with 12 unique problems. The problems are different for each partner, but the answers and clock placement are the same. This gives students a chance to work independently, then compare answers and talk through any mistakes if their results do not match.
Students begin with the problem marked by a star and glue it to the 12 o’clock spot. After solving, they find the matching answer at the top of another problem card and glue that card to the 1 o’clock spot. Students continue solving and matching until they move around the clock and return back to the 12 o’clock spot.
