Zuihō-in, a remarkable temple founded by the Christian daimyo Otomo, features stunning gardens designed by Shigemori Mirei in 1961. Known for its Garden of the Cross and the inclusion of a Virgin Mary statue, the temple also houses Otomo and his wife’s graves. Built in 1546, it survived the Onin war and retains much of its original structure.
