'She Yu' CTA Timepiece by C.Crawford
Limited Edition Hand-Painted Fine Art Timepiece
The Chinese name for the peony is 'Sho-Yu', which means most beautiful. In China the peony is celebrated as the 'King of Flowers'. The peony was reportedly first cultivated in imperial gardens during the Sui Dynasty (581–618 AD). The Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD) adored peonies, and large-scale cultivation began, especially in Luoyang, which later became known as the "Peony Capital".
The peony flower symbolises nobility, honour, wealth, good fortune, compassion and even bashfulness.
