TME Advanced Cricket – Complete Years 7–9 Scheme of Learning

Provide a broad and challenging cricket experience through 15 progressive lessons covering batting, bowling, fielding, wicketkeeping, running between wickets and tactical match play.

Pupils develop a wider range of batting options, including controlled defensive and attacking strokes such as the drive, pull and cut. They also refine bowling consistency, catching, throwing, ground fielding and decision-making in competitive situations. Tactical activities explore shot selection, field placement, communication, scoring opportunities and managing risk.

The scheme includes detailed lesson plans, visual infographics, equipment lists, pitch measurements, organisation guidance, safety procedures and precise teaching cues. STEP differentiation, SEND and EAL support, Assessment for Learning, Head–Heart–Hands criteria and meaningful non-playing roles make the resource highly inclusive. Metacognition and oracy tasks help pupils analyse evidence, explain tactical choices and identify productive next steps.
