Progressive learning across Key Stage 3

The Years 7 and 8 content establishes secure technique, understanding, confidence and positive learning behaviours. Pupils progressively learn how to apply their skills within increasingly challenging practical situations.

The Year 9 content extends learning through more demanding technical application, tactical decision-making, leadership, evaluation and independent performance. Pupils are encouraged to analyse evidence, justify their choices, adapt strategies and take greater responsibility for their own and others’ development.

This creates a coherent three-year learning journey rather than a collection of disconnected lessons.

Designed to support every teacher and pupil

The extensive teaching guidance makes the curriculum valuable to experienced PE specialists while also giving less-confident or non-specialist teachers the information needed to organise and deliver purposeful lessons.

Inclusive teaching is embedded throughout. STEP adaptations, SEND and EAL guidance, visual resources and meaningful alternative roles help teachers maintain challenge, participation and progress for a wide range of pupils.

Save planning time without sacrificing quality

The TME Advanced Curriculum gives departments a consistent structure across every activity while retaining the flexibility to adapt lessons to different facilities, class sizes, equipment and pupil needs.

Schools can select individual activity schemes to strengthen particular areas of provision or purchase the complete curriculum to establish a broad, balanced and professionally presented Key Stage 3 PE programme.

Whether you are reviewing your curriculum, improving departmental consistency, supporting staff confidence or reducing planning workload, the TME Advanced Curriculum provides a practical and comprehensive foundation for outstanding PE.

21 activities. 273 progressive lessons. Three complete years of Key Stage 3 PE.
