TME Advanced American Football – Complete Years 7–9 Scheme of Learning

Introduce pupils to the excitement and tactical challenge of American Football through 12 progressive, ready-to-teach lessons. Using a safe, non-contact flag format, pupils develop accurate passing and catching, route running, ball carrying, evasive movement, flag pulling, defensive coverage and attacking play selection.

The scheme progresses from individual techniques to coordinated offensive and defensive systems, encouraging pupils to read the game, communicate effectively and adapt tactics under pressure.

Included are detailed lesson plans, visual lesson infographics, equipment and organisation guidance, teaching cues, safety information, STEP differentiation, SEND and EAL support, Assessment for Learning, Head–Heart–Hands assessment and meaningful roles for non-participating pupils. Plan–Monitor–Reflect activities and age-appropriate oracy prompts help pupils explain decisions, evaluate performance and justify tactical changes.
