TME Advanced Tennis – Complete Years 7–9 Scheme of Learning

Build technically confident and tactically intelligent tennis players through 12 structured lessons for Years 7–9. Pupils develop forehand and backhand groundstrokes, serving, returning, volleying, court movement and recovery.

Progressive practices teach pupils how to maintain rallies, vary direction and depth, create space, approach the net and construct points. Singles and doubles activities develop positioning, communication, tactical planning and the ability to respond to different opponents.

The scheme includes detailed court organisation, measurements, equipment, timings, teaching cues and success criteria. Visual lesson infographics, STEP differentiation, SEND and EAL strategies, Head–Heart–Hands assessment, Assessment for Learning and non-playing responsibilities are provided. Metacognition and age-appropriate oracy prompts help pupils explain shot selection, analyse patterns and make evidence-informed tactical adjustments.
