Practice finding the area of geometric shapes with this Area of Geometric Shapes Chain Reaction Activity. Students solve area problems involving parallelograms, rectangles, squares, rhombuses, triangles, and trapezoids.
This self-checking activity includes 20 area problems. Students solve one problem, find the matching answer on another strip, and connect the pieces together to build a chain. If an answer is incorrect, the chain will not connect correctly, giving students a built-in way to check their work.
Use this activity for independent practice, partner work, math centers, stations, or review. Students can also tape or glue their completed chains together and display their work around the classroom.
