A Guided Program by Greg | The Healthy Mind Advocate

More than 30 years of chronic pain. Nearly 8 years free. About 15,000 steps a day.

This is not a book. It’s a structured, self-paced program built from the understandings, practices, and personal lessons that changed my life — and have helped change the lives of many others.

You can feel better. Your life can get bigger.

What This Program Includes:

5 phases. 11 modules. A guided journey from where you are to where you want to be.

  • Phase 1 – Foundation: Personal Baseline & The Medical Audit · Thought, Fear & Disengaging Autopilot
  • Phase 2 – Neural Pathways: Recognizing Chronic Pain Patterns · Radical Acceptance & The Fear-Pain Cycle
  • Phase 3 – Internal Triggers: Cognitive Soothing · Root Drivers, Stress & Emotions · Somatic Tracking
  • Phase 4 – Rebuilding Trust: Graded Exposure · The Flare-Up Protocol
  • Phase 5 – Life Beyond Pain: The 6 Laws of Mental Alignment · Identity Architecture & The Mind Builder

How the Program Works:

Each module guides you through a clear cycle: Understand → Notice → Practice → Apply → Move Forward. You’ll need a dedicated program notebook and the willingness to do more than read. Every module includes a timed, focused practice designed to fit inside ordinary life.

Phase 1 begins with your Medical & Emotional Audit — two parallel timelines that help you see where pain, belief, fear and life events may have intersected. Module 2 then shows you how fear, anticipation and protective behaviour can quietly become part of the pain experience itself — before you even move.

“For years my explanation was: WALK → PAIN → FEAR. Then I noticed: ANTICIPATION → FEAR → MONITORING / BRACING → WALK → PAIN → MORE FEAR.”

Phase 2 introduces neural pathways — how the nervous system can learn to anticipate and amplify pain through repeated associations. A learned response is still a real response. Module 4 introduces Radical Acceptance: not giving up or ignoring symptoms, but removing the automatic second layer of fear and struggle around familiar sensations.

PAIN → NOTICE → ALLOW → RESPOND CALMLY → RETURN TO LIFE

Phase 3 moves inside. Module 5 introduces Cognitive Soothing — calm, believable reassurance that interrupts the fear cycle without demanding you believe something you don’t. Module 6 explores root drivers: the recurring emotional pressures that quietly keep your nervous system under strain.

“Pain was the doorway. Questioning fear in one area helped me question it elsewhere. That is why this program begins with pain but reaches into confidence, anxiety, identity and opportunity.”

Module 7 introduces Somatic Tracking — a practice of paying attention to familiar sensations with curiosity rather than alarm.

  • Fearful monitoring: Sensation → “What does this mean?” → fear → checking / bracing → more alarm
  • Somatic Tracking: Sensation → describe what is actually there → curiosity → less catastrophic meaning → return to life

Phase 4 is about rebuilding trust. Module 8 — Graded Exposure — is a structured way of gradually returning to appropriate activities that fear has made smaller. You build a personal Fear & Avoidance Ladder and progress by confidence, not by proving toughness. Module 9 gives you a written Flare-Up Plan to have ready before a difficult day arrives — because a flare-up is not the same as recovery failed.

FLARE → ASSESS → SOOTHE → RESPOND → CONTINUE

Phase 5 is where the program reaches beyond pain entirely. Module 10 introduces the 6 Laws of Mental Alignment — principles for becoming more intentional about what your mind repeatedly rehearses: Thoughts Are Real Influences, Reinforcement, Resonance, Influence, Replacement, and Interconnection.

Module 11 — Identity Architecture & The Mind Builder — is where the program ends and the rest of your life begins. Years of chronic pain can quietly become an answer to “Who am I?” This module is about building real-world evidence — through daily identity actions, not slogans — that you are larger than that story.

THOUGHT → RESPONSE → ACTION → EVIDENCE → IDENTITY
“At an employment seminar years ago, after sitting for hours, I could hardly get out of the chair and wondered how I would reach my car. Years later I became one of the top 50/50 sellers at the Canadian Tire Centre. At 62, I still do that work with energy and confidence. I no longer organize my life around chronic pain.”

Who This Program May Help

Mind-body approaches have been explored across a wide range of chronic pain and symptom experiences, including back pain, sciatica, herniated discs, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, migraines, neck and shoulder pain, hip and knee pain, plantar fasciitis, neuropathy, IBS, pelvic pain, tinnitus, chronic anxiety, insomnia and more. This program does not claim to treat any condition. It offers a structured, evidence-informed approach to changing your relationship with pain, fear and identity.

Personal — and Clinically Grounded

In a randomized clinical trial of 151 adults with primary chronic back pain, 66% of those assigned to Pain Reprocessing Therapy were pain-free or nearly pain-free immediately after treatment. A five-year follow-up published in 2025 found that 55% of participants were still nearly or completely pain-free. These findings don’t promise any specific result — and this program doesn’t either. But they show that meaningful change is possible for more than one person.

Important

This program is educational and based substantially on personal experience. It is not medical advice. Do not use it to diagnose yourself, stop treatment, or ignore medical guidance. New, severe, or significantly changed symptoms deserve appropriate medical evaluation. Mind-body exploration and medical care can coexist.
