Obai-in in Daitoku-ji: A Hidden Gem with Masterful Garden Design
Ōbai-in, a secret sub-temple of Daitoku-ji, boasts one of Japan's finest gardens, designed by the renowned tea master Sen no Rikyu in 1562. The garden features a Sanzonseki stone arrangement and a gourd-shaped pond, along with a unique lantern from Kato Kiyomasa. The Kuri and ancient paintings on the sliding doors have been preserved since the 16th century.
