The Quality of Numbers CD and Songbook Link

Why Children Should Learn About the Quality of Numbers

One of the biggest stumble blocks in math education is that children aren't taught how to think mathematically. They are told to memorize given math facts without any explanation of the bigger picture. Mathematics and numbers are deeply interwoven into the fabric of our existence. It is the language to describe the hidden forces of our world. It is a beautiful way to describe the unseen workings of our universe.

When you introduce the child to the quality of numbers you are awakening in them a sense of the purpose and mystery of mathematics. Their human soul responds to this with a deep awe and wonder about the complexity that surrounds them. Present your lesson in the form of stories and songs combined with movement and you can be assured that you are giving the child a head start in learning math. It will cultivate an interest and love which will be a solid foundation and crucial for their future math journey.

“This is a wonderful CD and a great help in the classroom. The songs and poems are really easy to learn and the children love it. I found it very helpful when I taught Class 1 a couple of years ago, and still use some of the verses and songs. I can really recommend this CD for all primary school teachers!”

A Great Resource!

We absolutely love the stories and songs. A great resource to help teach the quality of numbers. I do wish they had a physical CD plus digital. We have a CD player in our homeschool room that we use. Overall, one of the best resources out there to bring each number to life.

Fantastic Resource!

This is a MUST BUY resource for Class One teachers teaching numbers! It includes a story and song for each number. There is also an MP3 with the beautifully and clearly sung songs plus an accompanying PDF. The songs are delightful, fun and catchy! If I was teaching Class One, I wouldn't hesitate - definitely a worthwhile investment!
