Did You Know You Can Borrow My Books from the Public Library — for Free?

Life is expensive right now. If your book budget has taken a hit, here's some good news — you can borrow my books through your public library for free.

I believe in public libraries. They're free, open to everyone, and at the heart of communities. That's why I make my books available through library digital platforms. Libraries license my titles, so when you borrow, I still get paid a small royalty, while you get to read the title for free. So it's win win!

How to get started

  • You'll need a free library card from your local public library — grab one in person or sign up online through your library's website.
  • In the US? Download the Libby (by OverDrive) or Hoopla app — both are free.
  • Sign in with your library card details.
  • Search for Elina Emerald and borrow.

In Australia? Check Borrowbox — available through most Australian public libraries and works the same way.

Not sure where to start? Your local librarian will know exactly what platforms your library uses and can walk you through it.

What if the book is showing as unavailable?

  • Digital copies, like physical books, can only be borrowed by a set number of people at a time.
  • Simply place a hold and you'll be notified when it's your turn.
  • Wait times depend on demand. However, I don't think there's a high demand for mine. So you should be good!

What if my library doesn't stock the book?

  • Use the "Recommend to Library" option inside the Libby app.
  • Look for a "Suggest a Purchase" or "Recommend a Title" form on your library's website.
  • Or simply ask a librarian at the desk if they can stock/order the book — a direct request goes a long way.

When readers request a title, libraries may add it to their collection. Your request counts.

I hope this helps!

Happy Reading,

Elina xoxo
