Absolutely essential reading for everyone

Without exaggeration, this book has influenced my day-to-day life in a way no other written text even remotely has. Imagine if you never heard anyone talk about the sense of sight, even if you and most people you know can see. And then one day a book names this sense that you have always possessed (and which you use daily), and you become suddenly conscious of this thing that always was. It's like that, but if it also made you see even better.

The power was inside me all along

Even though everything in this book was new to me, it integrated seamlessly into what I already knew about humor. It's so spot-on it feels like I can't remember a time when I didn't know this. Super fulfilling! (And fun to read)

A perspective shifter

This is a common sense book for common sense people. The author uses easy to understand language to describe an (at first) unintuitive idea. I found myself feeling excited at the end of chapters when I would grasp concepts. And, as I read, I could feel my perspective shifting. I think reading this book made me a better, more genuine communicator. It gave me a new way to see complex emotions like anger, joy, sadness, and, of course, humor. 5/5 stars.
