Hi, I'm Nova.

Hi, I’m Nova.

I’m a survivor and a fighter — not just in the poetic sense, but in the blood-and-bone reality of it. I grew up in an abusive home. I’ve lived through domestic abuse, other people’s addiction, misdiagnosis, depression, suicidal ideation, and even an attempt. I’ve lost people to substance abuse, illness, and medical malpractice. Anything I have, I fought for myself — every inch, every step, every breath.

I choose softness, and I choose peace.

I love gardening, writing, fast cars, art, design, and laughing. I love quiet mornings, strong coffee, sunlight on lavender, and living in a way that feels honest and grounded.

I advocate for men’s mental health and neurodivergence because I’m privileged to know many strong, beautiful men. I see their struggles. I see what silence does to them. And I want to help, even if it’s just one conversation, one safe space, one connection that keeps someone going for one more day.

So stay a while.

Pull up a chair between the wildflowers. I’ve got coffee and cookies, and you can read while I tend to the lavender. Later, we can walk down to the beach, hunt for seashells, watch the gulls circle over the waves. And tonight, if you’re still here, we can look up at the sky together. I’ll show you the stars — the ones I’ve followed on the nights I didn’t think I’d make it.

Why the dandelions?

Because they’re everything I’m trying to be: resilient, joyful, stubborn, free, a little anti-establishment, full of wishes and hope carried on the wind.

This is my small corner of the world, where I practice the art of living well — after everything, and in spite of everything.

Interests & Inspirations

When I’m not writing or designing, you’ll usually find me in the garden. Soil calms me. Seeds make sense. Plants don’t lie. Gardening is where I ground myself — where I breathe deeper, move slower, reclaim the parts of me life tried to take.

I work in the motor trade, and I’m unapologetically in love with horsepower— the power, the precision, the engineering. It’s the opposite energy of the garden, and somehow it balances me perfectly.

Creatively, I’m shaped by poetry, music, art, textures, colour, scent, and memory. I find inspiration in resilience — wildflowers pushing through concrete, dandelions thriving where nothing else wants to grow, people who survive what should have broken them.

Fitness is part of my healing too. Movement keeps my mind steady. Strength is something I build for myself, not to impress anyone.

I’m drawn to the ocean, storms, mountains, quiet forests — places that match the intensity of my inner life. Nature has always been my mirror.

What You Can Expect From My Work

I bring together:

  • Raw, honest writing shaped by lived experience
  • Compassion for men’s mental health and neurodivergence
  • Gardening as ritual, therapy, and resilience
  • Art, design, and storytelling with emotional clarity
  • A balance of strength and softness, truth and peace
  • A space where people can rest, breathe, and feel understood

My mission is simple:

To help people feel seen, supported, and strong enough to make it through one more day — with truth, warmth, beauty, and a touch of rebellion.

You don’t have to do this alone.

Let’s talk.

Let’s connect.

Let’s make it for #onemoreday.

Meet Chris

Chris is a garden and eco-wellness writer whose work focuses on helping people grow calmer, more intentional lives through their connection to plants, soil, and simple rituals. His approach blends practical knowledge with a slow-living, reflective philosophy — grounded in the belief that tending to a garden is also a way of tending to yourself.

He joined Novaissance to share accessible, research-backed gardening insights: sustainable methods, regenerative practices, water-wise design, and the intersection between nature and mental wellness. His writing style is warm, steady, and thoughtful — the kind of voice that feels like a friend walking with you through the garden, pointing out small details you might have overlooked.

Interests & Inspirations

When Chris isn’t writing, he’s usually outdoors. He has a quiet fascination with astronomy — moon phases, meteor showers, the slow drift of constellations across seasons — and often steps outside at night just to check the sky.

His love for photography pairs naturally with gardening. You’ll usually find him with a macro lens, capturing textures, petals, insects, and the tiny worlds most people miss.

He’s also committed to functional fitness, focusing on strength and mobility as part of a grounded mental-wellness routine.

A lifelong coffee enthusiast, Chris enjoys brewing methods as much as the flavour — especially slow, mindful cups made in the early morning light.

He travels simply and intentionally, gravitating toward natural landscapes: botanical gardens, desert trails, quiet reserves, coastal paths. These places inform the calm, earth-centred tone of his writing.

And as a reader, he’s drawn to literature that explores nature, seasons, solitude, and the inner life — influences that subtly shape the way he tells stories.
