Our problems are deeper than what we can see. When we look at our problems, we might think they’re randomly appearing out of thin air, or if we have some self-awareness, we might think they’ve been arising from how we’ve been leading our lives. Now, the more inner work we do, the more we understand that our actions have direct consequences in our lives. For example, let’s say I’m frustrated about the fact that I’ve gained weight. If I have no self-awareness, I might just blame my jeans, or blame anything external. If I have some level of self-awareness, I’ll take some responsibility and say, “It’s because I haven’t been doing the things I need to do to reach my ideal weight.” Maybe I haven’t been exercising enough; maybe I haven’t been exercising at all. Maybe I haven’t been making an effort to eat a balanced diet, maybe I’ve neglected myself, maybe I’ve been having too much fast food or sugary snacks, etc.
Now, the more self-awareness I have, the more I can see where the problem arises—and the more opportunity I have to take full responsibility, which later translates into having the full power to change my reality. So we can confidently say that the more self-aware someone is, the more ability they have to look at their problems, understand where their problems arise, and take as much responsibility as they can to resolve them. I want to go a little bit deeper here because, as human beings, we’re so complex. I always say this, so we have to go another layer deeper into our own consciousness to really understand where these problems are coming from.
In this example, if I look at my habits—like the ones I mentioned, maybe eating unhealthy and so on—and if I go a little bit deeper, I might find out *why* I’m doing these things or where these habits are coming from. I can do a bit more self-reflection, but it will require me to dig into my subconscious patterns and my subconscious mind. Because we know that our habits, our actions, arise from our subconscious patterns. This is why we can decide one thing with our conscious mind but end up doing another thing, which might be the opposite of what we thought we would do. It’s because our subconscious mind is what controls our actions.
Now, if we ask, “What’s in our subconscious mind?”—we all know that our minds are basically everywhere, not just in our brains. And so all these patterns aren’t just thoughts; they’re also energy or emotions. These patterns embedded within us and our subconscious mind are forms of energy. Ultimately, we all know that we are made up of energy; everything is made up of energy. So it would be foolish of us not to explore the energetic root of our being. When we talk about energy, we can start discussing our energetic system, commonly known as the chakra system. This chakra system manages our energy; our energy centers are called chakras. These chakras manage energy and are responsible for different areas of our body.
For example, the root chakra is the primary chakra at the base of the spine; it regulates our survival, security, stability, and it manages all the organs and parts of the body in that area, like our legs, hips, etc. So, if food is related to survival and survival is related to the root chakra, from an energetic perspective, the reason why I’m eating an imbalanced diet might be because something about my root chakra is imbalanced. Since energy is the source of everything, we have to consider what these energetic implications mean in our lives. Instead of trying to solve the problem from a surface level, like the physical, I can dive deeper and figure out what’s going on from an energetic perspective. Just because I can’t touch or see it doesn’t mean it’s not impacting me.
So when people talk about energetic healing, we can be open to the idea that energy affects us, and most importantly, that energy might be where the ultimate solution lies. I’ve talked about the lack of long-term focus when it comes to our challenges—mainly health challenges, whether they’re physical or mental. And part of the reason is that we treat each disease or imbalance as separate from the whole body. But we all know that everything is interconnected. The human body, mind, and soul all affect one another in a way that’s very complex, and the whole system is just that—a system. So what affects one part of the system will affect another part.
We can’t say the problem is just in one single area, nor can we always treat something by focusing on just one part of the body. We have to treat the body as a whole. This is why holistic healing is more important now than ever. Eastern philosophy and medicine have always acknowledged this interconnectedness, while Western medicine has typically focused on treating specific areas of the body, often reducing it to a single issue that can be treated with one solution. But if we’re looking at health in general, for example, a problem with the liver might not always mean the liver itself is the issue. The problem might arise from an energetic point somewhere else, and it’s simply manifesting as an imbalance in the liver.
This is why it can’t always be that simple or treated with just one pill—that’s more like covering up the symptoms. There’s a big difference between healing and just dealing with symptoms. If we’re open to the idea that we’re energetic beings at our core, we can understand that energetic imbalances can manifest as physical imbalances, or emotional imbalances as physical ones, and vice versa. Our body parts are part of a whole system, and treating the whole is necessary to heal parts of the body. But energetic healing is something to consider because we’re energetic beings, and many energy imbalances manifest as physical imbalances. We know that energy flows from consciousness to matter, or form. Therefore, by treating the consciousness or energy first, we may have the greatest impact.
If I can start balancing my root chakra, for example, which governs my energetic body in certain areas, I might be able to see significant results. The thing about energetic healing is that it’s not always linear or step-by-step; sometimes it’s intuitive, and sometimes it’s not measurable, but we can see the results and realize something has worked for us. Because so many of our problems are subconscious, we might have to apply healing methods that are intangible. For example, walking barefoot helps balance the root chakra energy. But for someone used to looking only at the physical, they might not understand the connection between the earth, the root chakra, and walking barefoot.
To fully benefit from energy healing, we have to be open to the idea—and the truth—that everything in this universe is interconnected. Nothing is isolated. We have to use our intuition, our inner knowing, our visualization, our imagination, our energy. These are capabilities we’ve been given as human beings to see beyond the three-dimensional reality. As we know, humanity has evolved, and consciousness as a collective has expanded. Millions of years ago, human beings roamed the earth to find animals for dinner, but now we live in a modern society where we’ve created so many things that actually help us. We’ve advanced in technology so much that we can’t keep up with it—that’s a sign our consciousness is evolving.
Moving beyond this material world requires using imagination, intuition, and more. Just like Tesla said, “If you want to know the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” This is a challenge we can take on to evolve in a way that helps us understand and interact with energy. We’re energetic beings whether we want to admit it or not. We feel energy; that’s why we interpret energy as emotions, which we feel and interpret as feelings that show up on our faces.
There’s the unseen world and the world we see. But if we only rely on what we can see, and treat the world as only a three-dimensional reality, we miss out. We’ll never see things at their core, which is energy. One way to understand this is that we know there’s Wi-Fi around us somewhere, but we can’t see it. Still, we rely on it to do so many things in our lives. The same goes for energy. We use it constantly but don’t always realize it. Since we’ve been led to think the world is made up only of matter, we tend to look at energy healing as “woo woo.” But energy is powerful, and learning how to manage our energy is so important. At Wholistic Glow Up, we’ll be talking about how energy can change our lives for the better, including a chakra healing course that’ll be available soon. It’s an opportunity to learn about how energy affects our lives and how many issues arise from energetic imbalances. The chakra system will be our guide as we explore these issues and how to address them energetically. Stay tuned.
